Welcome to the Finnish Committee for Research Data home page

The Finnish Committee for Research Data (FCRD, Data-asiain kansalliskomitea in Finnish) brings together Finnish professionals and organizations from the field of research data management and links them to relevant international organizations. Find out more about us here.

Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture Open Science & Research initiative tasked the Finnish Committee for Research Data (FCRD) with producing recommendations on introducing uniform data citation practices to the Finnish research system. The project has used the eight data citation principles defined by the FORCE11 Data Citation Synthesis Group as a point of reference and a framework for evaluating national state of the art.

In addition to describing the landscape, the roadmap presents recommendations for national stakeholders as well as an information model for referencing research data. Once the project concludes in November 2017, it is up to the Finnish research community to continue discussing aspects of data citation and how to best embed the principles into research workflows.
